CBS has moved up the Sunday debut of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8. The two-hour special, originally set to air on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, will now debut at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Sept. 25 — barring any additional NFL overrun. The following week, the show will resume it´s regular airing time: 8/7c.

For the network’s purposes, a two-hour Sunday launch for NCIS: LA (with football and 60 Minutes as a lead-in) also is a strong strategy in getting the procedural’s substantial audience to know about the move over from Mondays.

In addition to this announcement, the network has also released the press release and the first promotional stills for the two-hour season premiere, which you can check below.

WHILE THE NCIS TEAM IS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE UNDER SECRETARY OF DEFENSE, ONE OF THEIR OWN IS SEVERELY INJURED DURING A MISSION IN SYRIA, ON THE SPECIAL TWO-HOUR EIGHTH SEASON PREMIERE OF “NCIS: LOS ANGELES,” SUNDAY, SEPT. 25

Also, the team travels to Syria to apprehend a High Value Target where one team member is severely injured when the mission goes awry, on the special two-hour eighth season premiere of NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Sept. 25 (8:30-10:30 PM, ET/8:00-10:00 PM, PT), on the CBS Television Network.
