It should be a crime not to enjoy the latest throwdown in TV’s great #tapped campaign.

In a just-released video, “NCIS: Los Angeles” cast members Renée Felice Smith and Barrett Foa — with the accompaniment of Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah — show off their time steps and wings in an answer to a challenge directed at them by “Jane the Virgn” star Gina Rodriguez (who, in turn, was answering a dare sent to her by the cast of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”).

Why all the fuss about dancing? The campaigns both draw awareness to the series’ fall premieres and to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The CW, which airs both “Jane” and “Girlfriend,” has pledged to donate to the nonprofit fundraising and grant-making organization for each video made.

This means Melissa Benoist, Michael Weatherly, Erin Richards and Troian Bellisario have no choice but to answer now that the “NCIS: Los Angeles” stars have thrown the challenge to them.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” returns Sept. 21 on CBS.

What’s Callen hiding from his NCIS: LA team?

We last left Callen (Chris O’Donnell) surfing a roller coaster of emotions after learning that his father was alive way past the date he thought that he had died — Callen then learned his dad really passed away in 2008. (Or did he? Right after Callen leaves the café, his father walks in. Can you say cliff-hanger?)

As season 7 opens, we find Callen going rogue to tackle a secret operation that (ostensibly) even Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Sam (LL Cool J) are in the dark about. Of course, Hetty orders the team to shut it down, but given what Callen learned at the end of last season, it’s no surprise that he’s embarking on a self-destructive path.

Check out the above exclusive sneak peek at the new season of NCIS: LA before it returns Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

Spoiler Room: Any Deeks and Kensi news for NCIS: LA? — Henrietta
The Internal Affairs investigation will continue to be a point of concern between Kensi and Deeks. “It’s tough,” says Eric Christian Olsen, who remains steadfast that even he doesn’t know what Deeks did. “I think he’s covering something up, something catastrophic. I think he probably gets sent back to LAPD at some point. I think he’s hiding it from everybody, he’s been hiding it from himself. Whatever it is, I only hope he did it for the right reasons.”

NCIS: LA Mega Buzz: Will Callen Finally Learn the Truth About His Family?
Will this be the year that Callen (Chris O’Donnell) finally learns the truth about his family on NCIS: Los Angeles? And if so, what price will he have to pay?

Season 7 kicks off with a small time jump, picking up three months after the end of Season 6, when viewers learned that Callen’s presumed-dead father is actually alive. And it’s only a matter of time before Callen makes the same discovery. “The very heart of what this show is is Callen’s search for his family,” executive producer Shane Brennan tells TVGuide.com. “We are stepping closer and closer to finally giving Callen closure.” Read More

Ask Ausiello:
Question: Will fans of NCIS: LA’s Deeks and Kensi get to see their relationship develop more through Season 7? —Tony
Ausiello: That would be a definitive yes. “Things must be getting serious if he makes the choice to introduce her to his mom (played by Pamela Reed),” says Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi. “Throughout that episode, Deeks gets calls on his phone, he doesn’t tell Kensi who it is, he doesn’t pick up… so you can see he’s making the decision about whether he wants to take this step or not. And then he ends up taking it,” previews the actress. “I like that they’ve made it a thought-out decision.”

If possible, could you retrieve any teases for Season 7 of NCIS: LA? – Tony
Funny your name there, because I am hearing that NCIS fave Michael Weatherly’s crossover, currently penciled in for October, is quite hilarious. Said simply: DiNozzo + Deeks = LOLOLOLOL.

Callen puts the “G.” in “OMG” when NCIS: Los Angeles opens Season 7, as seen in these exclusive photos from the CBS drama’s Monday, Sept. 21 premiere.
Picking up three months after the finale, in which Hetty (played by Linda Hunt) informed/fibbed to Callen (Chris O’Donnell) that his father was dead, “We discover that Callen has been doing his own investigation into something,” showrunner Shane Brennan tells TVLine. And as a result of his rogue op, “He finds himself in a very difficult situation with Hetty and Sam (LL Cool J), because he’s not telling them what he’s got himself caught up in.”
Brennan says that although Callen’s agenda is ultimately revealed in the premiere (titled “Active Measures),” “It’s not resolved.” Rather, “In the tradition of this show, we plant the seeds of something to come, and it has a fairly major impact halfway through the season, in a double-episode.”

Watch out for mama, Marty.
NCIS: Los Angeles is about to get a visit from Pamela Reed, best known for her stint on Parks and Recreation. EW has learned exclusively that she’ll play Mrs. Deeks, the mother of Marty (Eric Christian Olsen).
“It will come as a shock, but yes … Deeks does have a mother!” executive producer Shane Brennan tells EW. “A big moment for Kensi when they finally meet, a bigger moment for Deeks and another memorable NCIS: LA moment for the fans as we lift the veil — or in this case, the apron — on one of our much-loved characters.”
In case you haven’t kept up with current events, NCIS: LA fans have been wanting to know more about Marty’s backstory. The general feeling is that he’s had some issues in the past, so mama’s arrival could answer some burning questions.
If anything, she’ll get to meet Kensi (Daniela Ruah), Deeks’ new lady love!
The first episode for Reed, who has also appeared on CSI and Criminal Minds, will air in September. The seventh season of NCIS: LA will kick off on Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

Great casting for Deeks’ mom on NCIS: LA. Any scoop on their relationship? — Mikey
The dynamic between Deeks and his mother is really going to shed light on why Deeks is the way he is. “It’s a really interesting reflection on why Deeks chose to work for Hetty and why he fell in love with Kensi,” Eric Christian Olsen tells me. “His mom represents a really strong female role model in his life. His mom has a blue collar job and worked her ass off to give her son the opportunities that she obviously didn’t have. He loves her. He knows what strength is because of her. That dynamic is going to be explored through her and now we see why he fell for the people he did in his life.”
